WB Molly question

Do you guys remember that I have been given the "job" of getting nice, used AG dolls for our church's new, upcoming AG Club? Well, here's an interesting situation. We got a Molly who turned out to be a WB (!), with her original outfit, original accessories set (minus her necklace) and her original box. The box top is all burgundy~there is no writing on it, just a 1" white heart on one of the short sides of the top. We paid $56 plus shipping. Sounds like we struck gold, right? Well, there's a problem~our pastor knew it when she ordered it. It has one digit chopped off one of it's thumbs and a slight slice of the other hand's index finger. She's a real lovely doll besides this. Here are our options. 1. Send her to the AG Hospital and pay outragous prices (not an option). 2. Keep her for our club girls and love her as is. I tried to get a finger splint from the Feel Better Kit, but they said they don't have that as a replacement part. Maybe if I call Marketing or my PS they'll take pity on me and find one! 3. Sell her and buy another one with intact fingers. What are your thoughts everyone? If you are interested in buying her, PM me with an offer.

If you can get some cheap arms (or just one that matches the missing-thumb hand; it doesn't SOUND like the other slice is so terrible), I'd say to restring her yourself (not VERY hard and I can send you some doll elastic, IF you have arms). Otherwise, I'd personally try to sell and move on; I don't see the kids really caring whether she is "white body" or not, but some might care that she's "broken." Although, if you want a lesson about accepting people who are different/etc., maybe keep her as is.

If it were me, I'd keep her as she is--a little piece of a thumb and a "slice" of a finger aren't that noticeable--and you won't find a prettier Molly for a better price! [img]smile.gif[/img]

The children can learn a lesson on accepting others who may be "less-than-perfect", too! [img]smile.gif[/img] [img]graemlins/rainbow.gif[/img]

I would keep her as is, I too think it is a small thing that my teach lesson on less than perfect. My DDs would love a WB Molly no matter condition (don't tell she is hiding ... in the.. Christmas Closet).Sometimes the little things may surprise you most. Wait and put her out see which little one goes for her, I think you'll be surprised how many want her. My youngest would pick her first because she has a booboo and needs lots of love.
